First, I thought this was a good parody article. Then, I found the article was really on arxiv. While I haven't read the article and I don't claim to be an ML expert, how the heck is any of this novel or even remotely interesting? How is this different from (smart) feature selection and engineering in machine learning? If the scientific community is happy to accept this as novel and interesting, then it only means that the community has forgotten its roots/fundamentals.
